Bookstore
Augsburg Fortress, the publishing house of the Evangelical Lutheran
Church in America, opened a retail store on the Trinity Lutheran
Seminary campus in May 2000. The store is located on the lower level
of the seminary's main building and is handicapped-accessible. It
offers the seminary's extensive academic book and product resources
and the full line of Augsburg educational resources, ecclesiastical
arts and worship and music products. Both Fortress Press and Augsburg
Books are available.
Child Care Center
Child care is available through the nearby Christ Lutheran Church
Children's Center, which provides quality, Christian child care
for families in the surrounding community and for Trinity students
who wish to enroll children in this program. Fully licensed by the
State of Ohio, the center is open full-time Monday through Friday,
twelve months each year. Three-, four-, or five-year-old children
are cared for by state-certified early childhood education specialists
and assistants. A hospitable environment with modern equipment welcomes
children and provides many nurturing opportunities for holistic
growth. Children cared for during the morning hours benefit from
a preschool program at no additional charge. Trinity supports its
student families by considering child care costs at the center in
a student's financial aid package.
Computer Service
Trinity’s Hamma Library provides a computer lab for student use.
The lab hours are the same as posted for the library. Computers
are available on a first-come, first-served basis, but time slots
can be reserved. Other computers are available throughout the library
for word processing, e-mail, and printing. Licensed software can
be checked out at the Circulation Desk for use at a designated PC
workstation.
Health Services
The seminary contracts with Capital University to provide medical
and health care to seminarians. Capital University's Kline Clinic,
where the staff includes a nurse practitioner and several registered
nurses, is open during the day from September to June, except for
vacation periods. It is equipped to handle both routine and emergency
cases.
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America requires any student registered for more
than two courses in a term to be enrolled in the national seminarian health insurance
plan to which all the seminaries of the church subscribe. The plan provides for major
medical and accident coverage, which begins each school year on September 1 and continues
through August 31 of the following year. Seminarians in the plan may elect to purchase
additional coverage for themselves as well as coverage for their spouses and dependents.

Mail Service
E-mail. E-mail accounts are set up at the beginning of the
academic year for all full-time students, and remain available for
the duration of a student’s time at the seminary (barring leaves
of absence, etc. ). If new full-time students enroll after the fall
term, they are assigned an e-mail account at that time. There is
no additional charge for the e-mail account. E-mail accounts are
also established for faculty and staff.
Students who are not full-time can request an e-mail account. However,
a fee may be charged to these students.
Postal. The Registrar’s office assigns mailboxes to students through which in-house
correspondence is circulated. Dormitory students, as well as others who wish, will receive
U.S. Postal Service mail in these boxes.
Parking
Parking for resident and commuter students, faculty, and staff is available either in the
lot behind the seminary or across the street by the apartment housing. Because parking
space is limited, it is necessary to register all vehicles using our lots and to enforce
parking restrictions under Bexley Ordinance 15-61. It is the responsibility of all parking
lot users to know and abide by these restrictions. Zones and other restrictions are clearly
marked by signs or on the pavement.
Parking permits are issued for a fee to students and at no charge to faculty and staff.
Free Visitor Parking in the lot behind the seminary is provided for guests only.
Recycling
Life Together oversees recycling of paper products throughout the
seminary building.
Voter Registration
In order to comply with the Higher Education Act requirement, Trinity Lutheran Seminary
distributes Voter Registration forms and assists students on our campus with their voter
registration. Forms are made available at the times of course registration and are to be
returned to the Office of the Pastor to the Community. Additional forms are available at
any time in that office.
