The Master of Arts in Church Music degree may be completed in a two-year course of study, part-time, or through summer coursework, coupled with other study.

Gloria Dei Worship Center – widely known for its acoustic design – houses the seminary’s worship and music programs and a variety of musical instruments, including the acclaimed 45-rank, 32-stop Steiner-Reck pipe organ dedicated in 1983. Students also benefit from participation in the seminary’s ensembles, including Liturgical Choir, Seminary Choir and Brass Choir.

Degree candidates may utilize resources at the Capital University Conservatory of Music, located across the street, and through Trinity’s partner seminaries in the Theological Consortium of Greater Columbus, the Methodist Theological School in Ohio and Pontifical College Josephinum.

The Liturgical Choir, directed by Master of Arts in Church Music (MACM) students, provides opportunity for students to direct the choir and integrate their classroom learning. Liturgical Choir also gives Master of Divinity students the opportunity to practice a variety of liturgies and become familiar with the work of the church musician, choir, and accompanist. In addition, they gain a fuller appreciation of diverse styles, accompaniments, and instrumentation.

Trinity Seminary Choir is a 60-voice choir that sings larger choral works and leads Choral Evensong. Students, staff, spouses, and faculty members are joined by singers from the greater community as they rehearse and ultimately present works such as Mozart's Requiem within the context of ELW Evening Prayer. These concerts are presented as gifts to the greater community.
